ST. PETERS – Trevor Boudreau will be the Progressive Conservative candidate in Richmond in the next provincial general election.
First elected in 2021, Boudreau has helped build up the constituency of Richmond through the following investments:
- Highways, roads and bridge work, including Morrison Road, Highway 104 bridge rehabilitation, Marchand Lane, Oban Road, Loch Lomond Road, Hay Cove Road, St. Peters Fourchu Road, West Bay Road;
- $468,000 for a sidewalk project in Petit-de-Grat and accessibility improvements to three facilities in Richmond County;
- New provincial park reserve at False Bay, Richmond County;
- New provincial nature reserves at Cap La Ronde, Richmond County, and Point Michaud, Richmond County;
- $45,230 to Cape Breton South Recruiting for Health in L’Ardoise;
- $30,000 to the Municipality of the County of Richmond for upgrades to Arichat/Evanston water tower backup power; and
- Contributions to community projects at Isle Madame Historical Society, East Richmond ATV Riders Society, Friends of St. John’s Arichat Society, Loch Lomond Volunteer Fire Department, St. Peters/Grand River/Loch Lomond Pastoral Charge, Rocky Bay Irish Club, Saint Joseph Parish Hall, South Mountain Arm of Gold Community Association, Louisdale Lions Club, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 47, La Picasse, Bras d’Or Lakes Seniors Association, Barachois Trail Association, and Isle Madame Community Television Association.
“Job one for me as the MLA for Richmond is to deliver for the people I have been elected to represent,” said Boudreau. “It’s been an honour to be the voice of the people of Richmond and with their support through the next election, we can keep building up from what was broken under the previous Liberal government.”
A chiropractor, small business owner and municipal councillor before he was elected to the Legislature, Boudreau has held a number of leadership roles in Premier Tim Houston’s government, including Minister of Community Services, Minister of L’Nu Affairs, Government Whip and member of the Treasury Board.
“Trevor Boudreau is a kind and decent person who pushes hard to ensure Richmond County gets its fair share of government attention,” said Houston. “I need Trevor Boudreau back as MLA to continue the work of our government to build up Richmond County. We can’t go back to a government that ignores healthcare, neglects seniors, fights with workers, and supports the Liberal carbon tax.”
